It seems so hard to donate. I have furniture in great condition, would like to donate it rather than sell it and I can't find anyone that will pick up the items. I do not have a truck, etc.....

Goodwill or Salvation Army.

Have you tried the Salvation Army? I've never known them not to pick up large items for their thrift shops. Also, if your area has a Goodwill Stores operation, look them up for pickup. Some Goodwill agencies have stopped picking up because of lack of funding from United Way, but they do operate locations to bring things to. Other than that, I'd look for churches or rescue missions in the phone book for any that might pickup goods.

have you contacted the salvation army or goodwill. Normally if it is something significant and in good shape, they will send a truck out...

Try this website:
http://sandiego.craigslist.org/
You can post things you want to give away for free such as furniture (look in the upper left corner where it says "post to classifieds"). Also, you can see if anyone is looking for furniture (look under the "For Sale" section, then click on "wanted").
